P6/7 Extra Curricular Rugby Festivals
Perthshire Rugby Football Club have organised a series of 3 rugby festivals, groups into clusters (We are part of the Almond Cluster) and are a great opportunity for children to enjoy a positive experience of playing rugby. Participants will be introduced to contact rugby by appropriately experienced and qualified coaches progressively over the three festivals starting with non-contact (touch) rugby at Festival one progressing towards contact rugby by the third Festival.
Pupils are required to bring football or rugby boots (if owned), trainers for participating indoors, warm clothing and a mouth guard. The block will conclude with a festival week beginning 20th of May (exact date & format to be confirmed nearer the time) which will combine players from the participating Primary schools. The festival will run at PRFC at the North Inch, Perth from 10am and finish at 3pm. Pupils will be expected to make their own way to all festivals (if there are sufficient numbers taking part from Ruthvenfield, the school may be able to organise transport and supervision for the day festival during the week of 20th May) If you would like your child to participate in the extra-curricular rugby festival programme and the cluster school rugby festival, please complete the form below and return it to the school office no later than 25/03/19. If you have any queries about the class on a week to week basis or the festival, then please contact Sarah Hogwood on the number listed below.
